Racing Name: Al Capone
Date of Birth: February 2020
What a big striking lad is Al. Not blessed in the brains department but a loveable goofball. Still adjusting to all the new sights & sounds and can get a bit over excited but much to like 🙂 Was a bit full on with the terrier but he’s never seen one before and should settle the more of real life and other breeds that he sees. Shares so well with even a fiesty girl grey that we are hopeful his good nature will expand to encompass other breeds too. A boy we can’t help but like 🙂

Bluey
Racing Name: Decee Bluey
Date of Birth: March 2021
Despite her demure look in her profile picture Bluey is definitely a Fun, Fun, Fun girly lol. A little livewire with a super sassy but loving personality 🙂 Luckily once you’ve wrestled her out of the gate she walks nicely and is a great grey 🙂 A super little hound, who tested well with the terrier but can get excited by a leaf falling lol. Not been out of the area yet but no doubt she’ll enjoy that too 🙂

Bonio
Racing Name: Ondogandbone
Date of Birth: January 2022
A handsome boy who is very new in. After the initial excitement he settles well once walking but struggles to walk a straight line lol. He did meet Bugley the terrier and was a bit full on but not aggressive and took Bugley’s telling off well. Still settling and improving every day – will keep you posted on his progress.

Chas
Racing Name: Charlie Emtrynie
Date of Birth: October 2019
No I haven’t spelt his name wrong – who thinks these up?? Looks a bit serious in his picture but not in real life. A happy, charming boy, a big lad but luckily has good manners and walks well for our volunteers. Has been in a home and was impeccably behaved apart from his over excitement with little dogs, this needs some work but not impossible. Just a bit too much for his previous owners. If you have the knowledge and time to work with him and other breeds he could become your perfect dog 🙂

Connel
Racing Name: Scattered Canelo
Date of Birth: January 2020
Connel has been in a home with 2 other dogs, so is house trained but unfortunately after quite some time, was becoming increasingly dominent with them. A high energy boy who loves people but needs some rules and boundaries to make him a really happy boy. He is bright and learns quickly but this also means he learns good & bad in equal measure, given the opportunity! Has been out and about quite a lot and loves his adventures, he will however approach any human for a fuss! A great boy who maybe needs to be the only dog in the home. Connel deserves a second chance, could you be the one to give him this??

Racing Name: Bitcoin Dazzler
Date of Birth: September 2020
Another striking chap who is a favorite with the staff due to his good manners and laid back attitude. Super tolerant of his nutty kennel mate, for which he needs a medal!! He’s a bit more switched on out walking but still an easy enough guy. Is waiting his turn to venture outside to the park but a clever lad who will soon adjust. Can be overlooked coz he’s not in your face but will make a great pet we’re sure 🙂

Racing Name: Runny Egg
Date of Birth: December 2019
An all round good egg 🙂 A larger boy, who loves life and is always happy to greet you, or anyone else for that matter lol. Needs some work with other breeds but can settle and has walked nicely out at the park on several occasions. A really good natured boy who just needs to see more of the world. A great chap who everyone here loves, just needs a guiding hand while he adjusts to the excitement of home life.

Hawk
Racing Name: Mohawk Spirit
Date of Birth: October 2022
Another stunning looking, younger chap 🙂 A lovely lad who is so very well behaved around kennels and out on his walks in the woods. He’s interested in everything but walks nicely and is very interactive and loves a good fuss. Was ok with Bugley the terrier up close and personal but can be excited by other breeds (or even his own) running in the distance. Still a young boy with a lovely temperament who will thrive once he has more exposure to the excitement of life outside of racing. One of the volunteers favourites 🙂

Racing Name: One Cool King
Date of Birth: July 2020
Another lump who doesn’t know his size lol. A big, bouncy lad who has a certain joie de vivre and who you can count on to make you laugh. Tested with Bugley (the terrier) well, once Bugley told him to take it steady in no uncertain terms, backed off and learnt to approach with less enthusiasm! A great boy who learns quickly but who would need an owner experienced enough to curb his enthusiasm and enjoy his love of life. A lot of fun for the right household 🙂

Lulu Lollipop
Racing Name: Flyers Effect
Date of Birth: April 2022
LLL came to us as a stray, she never raced here but did briefly in Ireland. As a stray, little is known about her life since she left racing. All we can say is that she is super friendly, happy, good with other breeds, walks like a dream, travels well in the car – what else could you want. She does need another dog for company as she hatees being alone but it needn’t be a greyhound. She also loves her food so no doubt will be a counter surfer until she knows better. Nobody’s perfect but she comes very close 🙂

Merit
Racing Name: Jacktavern Ace
Date of Birth: May 2022
Merit is a true gent and a loveable munchkin 🙂 He’s a handsome, stocky chap but not overly tall for a boy. He walks beautifully until he sees a squirrel but isn’t uncontrollable. He has spent a few days in foster and was clean in the house, slept through the night and got on well with the resident 2 greys. Merit is also good with other breeds, so much so he can run around loose in the yard with Bugley the terrier without a muzzle (we did work up to this). He does still get over excited if small dogs are running in the distance while in the park but once reminded of his manners soon settles. A lovely boy who will make a great pet 🙂

Penny
Racing Name: Coolemore Penny
Date of Birth: October 2021
Beautiful Penny but we do think she knows it lol. Lovely girl who walks well and has been out to the park and behaved impeccably. Didn’t mind Bugley the terrier at all and loves a good fuss. A very uncomplicated girl who is the right degree of confident. Her only fault is she can be posessive with her food, not with humans but around other dogs. Could live with another dog if this is taken into account when feeding. Much to like – we do 🙂

Sammy
Racing Name: Touchdown Baby
Date of Birth: August 2019
Sammy is a delightful smaller girl, who has super manners and is always pleased to see you. She shares well with her kennel mate and is no problem around other greyhounds. She does however not like other breeds at all 🙁 Very early days and if she can just get more exposure, we are sure she will improve as she’s a clever girl. Apart from this, the perfect pet, so we’ll work on her here and see where we can get. Such a shame but nobody’s perfect!

Racing Name: Slowlane Sandy
Date of Birth: August 2021
Nothing slowlane about Sandy lol. A full on girly who enjoys every minute of her life. She can be a bit of puller on the lead but soon stops with correction. Can’t be annoyed with her for this as she’s having such a great time 🙂 Beautiful, but think she knows it, she can be a bit full on but no malice. Once she’d got over her initial excitement, she did manage to settle around the terrier, so think it’s just a matter of repetition and exposure. A lovely girl who needs to start taking retirement more seriously lol

Seanie
Racing Name: Sleepy Seanie
Date of Birth: June 2019
Such a good looking boy and a lovely chap 🙂 Can be a little wary of new people but soon warms to them. Not overly affectionate but does form a bond with those people he knows well. Has been here a while as he’s had trouble with a front toe, after much deliberation we had it amputated and problem gone away 🙂 A much happier boy without it! Due to this he’s only just started his education outside of the kennel environment, very vocal and over excited by other breeds initially but all stems from fear. One of our volunteers Keith has taken him under his wing and he is improving with every outing now they have a bond and with gentle encouragement from Keith. A lovely lad who could live alone or with another grey and with someone to continue his training with other dogs. A super boy who will make a great pet in the right hands 🙂

Simba
Racing Name: Murdan Lad
Date of Birth: August 2022
Striking looking chap that you can’t help but squeeze – luckily he seems to enjoy this lol. A big, furry teddy bear of a grey who enjoys his walks and behaves well around kennels. Kennels well with his slightly scatty girly. A bit over zealous with the terrier but the sort who will get the idea with exposure. We will get him out and about as soon as we can, as apart from this he is a great chap 🙂

Smartie
Racing Name: Dark Slayer
Date of Birth: November 2018
Who would call a dog Dark Slayer?? Especially one as nice as Smartie? A big lad who has settled in well but can get excited by new things. No real aggression towards the smaller dogs but can be rude around them when he gets too stimulated. Around kennels an easy, happy lad who is enjoying his time with us. Smartie just needs a bit more exposure to the real world. A great boy 🙂

Zorro
Racing Name: Patterdale Zorro
Date of Birth: September 2020
A real lanky lad but so very handsome 🙂 Couldn’t ask for a better walker and is sought after by our volunteers despite his size. A polite and friendly chap around kennels and behaved the same with the terrier 🙂 Early days, so he’s not been out exploring the local parks yet but we’ve high hopes for this super chap. So far a bit of a dream boat 🙂

Tribble
Racing Name: Swift Alien
Date of Birth: July 2021
A real sweetie, who is shy but does come around once she knows you. Was slightly terrified of Bugley the terrier (he is a lot!) but is happy around other breeds out walking, polite and calm. Oddly when taken to the park she has been braver than expected but she did have the company of another grey. Tribble will blossom in a rural or semi-rural home with another confident dog, not necessarily a greyhound. A gentle soul who it’s hard not to love 🙂
