Racing Name: Al Capone
Date of Birth: February 2020
What a big striking lad is Al. Not blessed in the brains department but a loveable goofball. Still adjusting to all the new sights & sounds and can get a bit over excited but much to like 🙂 Was a bit full on with the terrier but he’s never seen one before and should settle the more of real life and other breeds that he sees. Shares so well with even a fiesty girl grey that we are hopeful his good nature will expand to encompass other breeds too. A boy we can’t help but like 🙂

Racing Name: Energize App
Date of Birth: August 2020
We could have called him Energize but he’s more like a sloth! Much more like a juicy apple, just want to eat him lol. Such a steady boy, who is happy and walks well. Barely looked at the terrier and has manners to die for. A handsome chap as well – The downside is he’s maybe not the sharpest tool in the box but this just makes him more endearing 🙂 Hasn’t ventured out yet but doubt he’ll prove a problem and not huge for a boy either. Doubt he’ll be here long 🙂

Racing Name: Choices Barkley
Date of Birth: September 2021
At the moment a scruffy, little mouse of a girl who is, we are sure, going to become the proverbial swan 🙂 Astra has already put her big girl pants on and is becoming braver all the time. She is showing her fun loving and cheeky character to us now and it is adorable 🙂 Loves her walks and was polite, almost disinterested in the terrier. A real sweetheart who will make a great addition to somebody’s family!

Racing Name: Beggers Bullet
Date of Birth: July 2021
Super handsome chap with great manners and a happy demeanour. He’s like a puppy at times and can be over-stimulated by noise and movement. Met the terrier and whilst initially pretty rude, settled without too much trouble. Walks like a dream until something exciting happens lol A great boy who just needs exposure and to realise he’s retired now. Time, patience and more experiences should help him become the great pet we know he can be 🙂

Betty
Racing Name: Ballyblack Betty
Date of Birth: February 2021
Betty was a scared little mouse when she came in to us. Bred and raced by the same person, so has led a very insular little life 🙁 HOWEVER – she’s turning into a cheeky, affectionate and demanding little madam since she’s realised that life here is good! She still pulls the scared card when meeting new people but behind that is a super girly who will liven up someone’s life – she certainly makes us all chuckle daily here 🙂 No malice in this girl, but she would still prefer a rural or semi rural home where she can blossom (and rule lol). A firm favourite here 🙂

Racing Name: Charlie Emtrynie
Date of Birth: October 2019
No I haven’t spelt his name wrong – who thinks these up?? Looks a bit serious in his picture but not in real life. A happy, charming boy, a big lad but luckily has good manners and walks well for our volunteers. Has been in a home and was impeccably behaved apart from his over excitement with little dogs, this needs some work but not impossible. Just a bit too much for his previous owners. If you have the knowledge and time to work with him and other breeds he could become your perfect dog 🙂

Connel
Racing Name: Scattered Canelo
Date of Birth: January 2020
Connel has been in a home with 2 other dogs, so is house trained but unfortunately after quite some time, was becoming increasingly dominent with them. A high energy boy who loves people but needs some rules and boundaries to make him a really happy boy. He is bright and learns quickly but this also means he learns good & bad in equal measure, given the opportunity! Has been out and about quite a lot and loves his adventures, he will however approach any human for a fuss! A great boy who maybe needs to be the only dog in the home. Connel deserves a second chance, could you be the one to give him this??

Racing Name: Bitcoin Dazzler
Date of Birth: September 2020
Another striking chap who is a favorite with the staff due to his good manners and laid back attitude. Super tolerant of his nutty kennel mate, for which he needs a medal!! He’s a bit more switched on out walking but still an easy enough guy. Is waiting his turn to venture outside to the park but a clever lad who will soon adjust. Can be overlooked coz he’s not in your face but will make a great pet we’re sure 🙂

Racing Name: Tommys Duchess
Date of Birth: March 2021
What a super girl she is, bigger than your average girl but beautiful manners and everything to like. She was thrown in at the deep end and did a meet & greet at Asda, a dog show and a country fair in her first 10 days with us! Apart from initially being a little worried by the noise from the stage at the country fair, she has taken all this in her stride. A lovely girl who will make a great addition to any family 🙂

JoJo
Racing Name: Millbank Jojo
Date of Birth: September 2022
A super pretty little girl, who walks nicely and didn’t hate the terrier on sight lol. Jojo can be a bit scatty but she’s a lightweight, so not a problem. Jojo loves a ball and can carry one around for ages but does give it up with no problem. Being female, she does have an opinion and will soon tell her much bigger kennel mate off, if he steps out of line 🙂 A super girly who will liven up someone’s life 🙂

Another lump who doesn’t know his size lol. A big, bouncy lad who has a certain joie de vivre and who you can count on to make you laugh. Tested with Bugley (the terrier) well, once Bugley told him to take it steady in no uncertain terms, backed off and learnt to approach with less enthusiasm! A great boy who learns quickly but who would need an owner experienced enough to curb his enthusiasm and enjoy his love of life. A lot of fun for the right household 🙂

Well, we’re still looking for a fault in this girl tbh. Undeniably beautiful, loves people, interactive, walks like a dream, is on the smaller side, doesn’t mind the terrier, has had a great review from the volunteers who took her to the local park, gets on well with her kennel mate but doesn’t stress if he goes out without her – need I say more !!!!!! ps loves a bacon sizzler 🙂 I’m done – I’ll leave it to you to decide 🙂

Racing Name: Ballyphilip Fab
Date of Birth: June 2019
A handsome boy who just LOVES people. Will make a bouncy, wagging beeline for just about anyone who even glances his way lol Great with other greys and since spending some time out and about, is now really tolerant with other breeds too. He walks well on his daily sabbaticals around our woods and as long as he has a confident handler, enjoys trips out as well. He’s not the bravest boy and can be overwhelmed if not reassured. He can be a bit vocal for attention but is quiet if he hasn’t got an audience lol A great chap with loads of character, would do well either in a home where he’s not left too long or with another dog for company, of any breed (subject to introductions). A real cuddle monster looking for people he can call his own.

Rebel
Racing Name: Ballyblack Rebel
Date of Birth: April 2020
Got to admit this is one I’d take home if there was room at the inn! A handsome, well mannered chap who doesn’t bat an eye at other breeds but has oodles of character once he knows you 🙂 A bit of a lazy bones who would rather have a belly rub than go out for a wee in the morning, he talks to you and throws himself upside down lol. Having said that, he loves his walks (once he’s up and about!) and strolls along happily admiring the scenery. Needs to get out and about yet to see if this over excites him but I would doubt it 🙂

Rocky
Racing Name : Insane Rocky
Date of Birth: September 2018
An older gent but a really sweet chap, can’t help but love him with his bonnet ears 🙂 Walks nicely and is learning to love his cuddles from the volunteers here. A little excited by the terrier but soon settled, wouldn’t take him long to accept other breeds. Rocky can be a little worried in new situations but doesn’t have a melt down, he’s just anxious. Not been out yet as he needs to get a little fitter first as he hasn’t raced for some time and has obviously just been lounging in his kennel – something he likes to do lol. A great chap who has the sweetest nature 🙂

Sammy
Racing Name: Touchdown Baby
Date of Birth: August 2019
Sammy is a delightful smaller girl, who has super manners and is always pleased to see you. She shares well with her kennel mate and is no problem around other greyhounds. She does however not like other breeds at all 🙁 Very early days and if she can just get more exposure, we are sure she will improve as she’s a clever girl. Apart from this, the perfect pet, so we’ll work on her here and see where we can get. Such a shame but nobody’s perfect!

Racing Name: Slowlane Sandy
Date of Birth: August 2021
Nothing slowlane about Sandy lol. A full on girly who enjoys every minute of her life. She can be a bit of puller on the lead but soon stops with correction. Can’t be annoyed with her for this as she’s having such a great time 🙂 Beautiful, but think she knows it, she can be a bit full on but no malice. Once she’d got over her initial excitement, she did manage to settle around the terrier, so think it’s just a matter of repetition and exposure. A lovely girl who needs to start taking retirement more seriously lol

Who would call a dog Dark Slayer?? Especially one as nice as Smartie? A big lad who has settled in well but can get excited by new things. No real aggression towards the smaller dogs but can be rude around them when he gets too stimulated. Around kennels an easy, happy lad who is enjoying his time with us. Smartie just needs a bit more exposure to the real world. A great boy 🙂

Tribble
Racing Name: Swift Alien
Date of Birth: July 2021
A real sweetie, who is shy but does come around once she knows you. Was slightly terrified of Bugley the terrier (he is a lot!) but is happy around other breeds out walking, polite and calm. Oddly when taken to the park she has been braver than expected but she did have the company of another grey. Tribble will blossom in a rural or semi-rural home with another confident dog, not necessarily a greyhound. A gentle soul who it’s hard not to love 🙂

Racing Name: Smooth Ride Home

No we didn’t pick the name at random – her ear tattoos are YU MMY 🙂 A lovely girl with the right balance of happy but not bonkers 🙂 Yummy is a happy girl who will kennel with just about anyone, even the more challenging boys! Loves her walks but isn’t too strong on the lead, although she can be keen. Has been out and behaved well, just excited to meet everyone and everything. She needs just a little more exposure with other breeds but is not aggressive just a bit over-enthusiastic. A super girly who would love an active home 🙂
