BBC visit Dunrunnin Rehoming Kennels to film a pilot feature!

img_5707-768x1024We had another exciting day at the kennels today as the BBC visited to do some filming for a pilot feature about the rise in the popularity of Greyhounds as family pets! Lucy Ferrier came down from Head Office to help us out, and we all had a whale of a time being interviewed about why we love Greyhounds so much 🙂

At first we were all a little bit apprehensive about being filmed on camera, but the interviewer’s enthusiasm was infectious and once we got started, he had trouble stopping us! As you can imagine, we all had a LOT to say about how fabulous our greyhounds are, and the poor interviewer had to work hard to keep to his timetable!

Here’s a quick shot of Stella being interviewed in our Tea Hut (Stella is one of our regular volunteers that comes three or four mornings a week to help Karen out with the early shift in the wee hours of the morning, before going off to her day job – what a legend!)

Stella had as all in stitches when asked what her favorite type of Greyhound is – to which she replied “the Tall, dark and handsome ones!” (Due to the number of black dogs in the rehoming system nationwide, the majority of the dogs in our kennels are tall dark and handsome!)img_5713-300x225

Luckily, the weather was on our side, and the BBC cameraman was able to capture some lovely footage of our hounds enjoying a walk in the beautiful woods that adjoin our Kennels. The bluebells are now out in full force and so the woods look really magical at the moment! Here’s a quick picture I took of Becca walking Mikey and Igley – don’t all three of them look simply gorgeous! Little Igley has recently been chosen by her forever family, but our lovely Mikey (the white and black hound) is still waiting for his lucky day – perhaps he could be your chosen one?!
